Oh man. Damn. They just had to go and make me cry. I just found out that this was the last recorded work of the late metal god Quorthon. I don't know who Jennie Tebler is (other than working with Lake of Tears) but I get the impression she was either Quorthon's gal, or at least very close to him in some way. Her words on the liner notes is enough to have me crying all over my metal self again. He will be missed.

Quorthon wrote and recorded the music on this two song disc and she provides the vocals. I was disappointed to find there were only two songs, but hey, I'll take whatever I can get.

"Silverwing" is a catchy mid-tempo tune. It has a nice groove to it and also imparts the feeling of vast majestic space.

"Song to Hall Up High" as any good Bathory fan knows is a classic from the "Hammerheart" album. I'm not sure if this song was something they meant to redo for this release, or if they remixed the original Bathory version with her vocals on top. Because listening to them side by side the music sounds the same.

Either way, there could not be a more fitting tribute and send off to one of metal's greatest.
